Palak Paneer is north Indian vegetarian curry with origins in Punjab region. The dish is comprised of a spinach puree (Palak is Hindi for spinach) and fresh-pressed cheese, with an aromatic blend of spices that includes ginger, garlic, and garam masala. Palak paneer is also sometimes called Saag paneer. Palak panner goes well with just anything from roti, naan, paratha to even rice.

Ingredients of Palak Paneer
- 500 gms Palak (Spinach), pureed
- 200 gms Paneer Cubes
- 1 1/2 tbsp Oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 tsp Ginger (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp Garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 cup Onion paste
- 1/2 cup Tomato, pureed
- 2 tbsp Salt ( as per taste)
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- 2-3 tbsp Cream
How to make Palak Paneer
- Boil spinach in a pressure cooker and grind it to make palak puree.
- Heat oil & butter in a pan and fry paneer cubes in it until golden brown.
- Remove the paneer cubes and put cumin, when it splutters, add bay leaf.
- When it starts to crackle add ginger, garlic and onion paste. Cook until it gets pinkish-brown in color.
- Add salt, garam masala, coriander powder along with red chilli powder, Stir till well mixed.
- Now, add tomato puree and stir fry over medium heat.
- Add Palak (spinach) and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Now, add paneer cubes to mix and turn around a few times to completely mix it with the palak gravy.
- Pour some cream over, mix well and serve hot.
